Public elementary teachers across Ontario plan to stage one day walkouts in the second week of December.
The Globe & Mail reporting some boards may close schools on the day of the job action.
But, officials with some boards suggest schools could remain open with principals playing movies for students in the cafeteria.
Some school board officials say daycares attached to schools should remain open.
The walkouts are expected to hit different boards on different days and high school teachers may join their counterparts on the picket lines.
Their union leaders meet Monday to discuss their next steps after scrapping talks with local boards.
The job action is the result of ongoing anger over Bill 115 which restricts teachers right to strike.
