Cambridge has put the brakes on a plan to charge for parking in the city’s three downtown cores.
Council voted unanimously to shelve the $1.14 million plan at its’ meeting on Monday night.
It means free two-hour parking will continue in those areas.

“Council came to an easy conclusion that this was the wrong path to take.”
Craig says they have asked the three BIA’s for their ideas on parking and they will come back with some other plans the city can may be look at.
The money the city would have generated will instead come out of general revenues.
