Trillium Public School in Kitchener is getting scrubbed clean over the weekend, after it was shutdown Thursday.

That’s after a large portion of the schools student-body got sick with what is believed to be the common norovirus.

“That really exhibits itself in terms of people having symptoms of nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea. Typically it lasts for 24 to 48 hours, and then most people recover quickly after that,” said Brenda Miller, Manager of Infection Control with the Region of Waterloo’s Public Health department.

“Especially this time of year, we have a responsibility to one-another to wash our hands, and stay home when you’re sick.” said Miller.

Miller expects Trillium Public will reopen on Monday.
