Wind warning cancelled

Environment Canada has cancelled a wind warning for Waterloo Region and surrounding areas.

Across Ontario, almost 100,000 people are still without power.

Locally, we have no reports of significant damage, but there were at least two outages: north of Elmira, due to a damaged hydro pole and in the Wilmot Line/Caramel Koch area.  Downed tree limbs, the issue there. Power has since been restored.

In Guelph, there were some areas in north end of the city, near the downtown that were without power, but hydro is now back in those areas.

Meantime, American Airlines had to cancel its’ 6:30am flight to Chicago that was set to leave the Region of Waterloo International Airport.

If you have any pictures of storm damage you can email them to news570@rogers.com
