Pedestrian struck and killed

Waterloo Regional Police report a woman has been killed after being struck by a southbound vehicle uptown Waterloo on King Street at Willis Way, Thursday afternoon.

Insp. Kevin Thaler told 570 News “the crash occurred at 5:38 (Thursday) afternoon.”

“We can confirm that this is a fatal … the pedestrian has died in hospital,” Thaler said.

The identity of the victim is in the process of being confirmed and next of kin are being notified. No additional details are being released at this time.

Speed and alcohol were not factors in this collision.

Witnesses are asked to call the Traffic Services Branch, as they’re conducting the investigation.
