The City of Cambridge has voted against asking the public what they think about the possibility of establishing an Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation gaming site.

Under Ontario’s new gaming strategy, slots and casinos are being established in city-centres, and in some cases moved out of rural areas.

However, the OLG requires any municipality trying to become a host community to seek public input.

The move not to go forward with public engagement, effectively takes Cambridge out of the running for a casino.
