Cambridge is looking for applications from those interested in becoming the city’s next Wedding Officiant.

Councillors passed a request for proposal motion which essentially opens up the contract held by Reverend Jay Brown. She experienced public backlash over refusal to perform same-sex marriages.

Cambridge has not tendered the contracts for civil marriage services in 15 years, and anyone is welcome to apply.
