Students get lesson in local government

Students are getting a first hand look this week at how their local government operates.
It’s Local Government Week with the aim being to help students and others understand how municipal government impacts their everyday lives.
Waterloo Region’s Council/Committee Support Specialist Stevie Natolochny tells 570 News students are excited to learn about government.
Yesterday, some grade five students had the opportunity to attend regional committee meetings.
They not only watched councillors debate various issues, but they too debated and held mock votes.
