A train on the Uptown Waterloo rail line heading to Elmira’s Chemtura derailed between Allen Street and William street Thursday around 8:30 p.m.

It was carrying 5 empty cars when the train derailed in a 10 Mile per hour zone.

The investigation into the cause will take up to two weeks.
