Women of the Year honoured

Hundreds turned out in Waterloo last night to honour great women doing some great things here in Waterloo Region.
The 38th annual Rogers Oktoberfest Women of the Year Awards were handed out.
Eight local women were honoured:
- 570 News, CHYM 96.7 and KIX Arts and Culture Award went to Brooke Myers
- Community Service Award goes to Paulet Biedermann
- Entrepreneur Award was presented to Yvonne Zensner
- Health and Wellness Award went to Magdalena Stopinski
- Lifetime Achievement award goes to Florence Hansen-Jucker
- Professional Award went to Mary Jo Fedy
- Sports and Recreation Award was presented to Mandy Bujold
- Young Adult Award Amber Shewfelt
The Women of the Year event held at the Waterloo Inn will be broadcast Saturday, October 13th at 8pm, and Sunday, October 14th at 7pm on Rogers TV, cable 20.
