Several groups are teaming up to launch a program in local schools aimed at keeping kids from using performance-enhancing drugs.
The program, which includes the two universities, Waterloo Regional Police and the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport was made possible thanks to a $150,000 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
The goal is create and then present an anti-drug message not only to students, but also to parents, educators and coaches.
Helping to drive home the message will be student-athletes from the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University.
They’ll talk with students from Grade 7 to 12.
