Waterloo Regional Police have charged one of their own following an off-duty incident back in August.

Police say the 7-year member of the force has been charged with sexual assault.

The officer’s name is being withheld, to protect the identity of the victim. Authorities say the accused has been released with a promise to appear with conditions and is set to appear in court November 1st.

The officer has also been suspended from duty.

No other details are being released at this time.
