The Kitchener Rangers are 2 and 0 to start their 50th season.
Radek Faksa scored the shootout winner as Kitchener edged the Sarnia Sting 3-2 on Sunday afternoon.
Newly-acquired forward Matt Puempel scored a pair of power play goals and goalie John Gibson stopped 28 of 30 shots. Puempel now has three goals in his first two regular season games with the Rangers.
The Rangers also beat the Mississauga Steelheads 3-0 in their season opener on Friday night.
Kitchener plays in Windsor on Thursday night. Don Cameron and Mike Farwell will have all the play by play on 570 News at 7pm.
