Great start to the 50th season

It was a winning start to season number 50 for the Kitchener Rangers last night in Mississauga.

The Rangers shut-out the newly named Steelheads 3-0 at Hershey Centre. Radek Faksa led the way with a pair of goals.

On the post game show, Matia Marcantuoni told 570’s Mike Farwell it was odd starting their season on the road.

“It’s pretty strange to be honest. Funny thing is, I’ve never actually played in this rink in my two years in the league. For me to play in this rink, the ice is good so everything couldn’t have been better tonight.”

The Rangers are playing their first 8 games on the road to start the season while the expansion of the Aud wraps up.

Kitchener play in Sarnia tomorrow afternoon. Puck drop is at 2 p.m. but the pre-game show hits the air on 570 News at 1:30 p.m.
