Regional Police are asking for the public’s help after a woman was followed near downtown Kitchener on Thursday.

Around 9:00am, a woman noticed she was being followed by a man near Charles Street and Stirling Avenue in Kitchener.  Despite the fact that the man’s behaviour was suspicious – he did not attempt to speak to or directly approach the woman.

Police describe the man as male, black, 5’7″ and 40 years of age with short black hair.

While Police have not made a direct link this incident and a previous one that occurred on September 11th around 8:00pm.  A 31-year old Kitchener woman was walking along a trail near Victoria Park in Kitchener when she was grabbed by an unknown man.  The woman managed to break free and ran to a nearby residence.  She sustained minimal injuries.

The suspect in the incident on the 11th was described as male, dark skinned, about 25-30 years old, 6′ tall with a medium build.

Regional Police also remind the public to take all appropriate precautions and be aware of their surroundings when walking alone.
