Kydon brand tahini recalled due to undeclared peanuts on label

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning people with peanut allergies not to consume the Kydon brand tahini, as it may contain peanuts, which aren’t declared on the label.

The affected product — from Greece — is sold in a 500-millimetre container bearing UPC 6 90651 77450 6 and best before date 16-10-2013.

Parthenon Food Importers Ltd., of Richmond, B.C., has voluntarily recalled the affected product.

This product has been distributed in British Columbia, Alberta and Manitoba; however, it may have been distributed in other provinces and territories as well.

There has been one illness reported with consumption of this product.
