OPP launch long weekend blitz

If you’re heading out on the highways and waterways this long weekend, make sure you’re mindful of the rules.

Ontario Provincial Police say they’ll be out in full force on roads, waterways and trails looking for aggressive driving, distracted driving, seat belt violations and impaired driving.

Staff Sergeant, John Mraud with Cambridge OPP tells 570 News that drivers need to be cautious this long weekend and be aware of other drivers.

According to OPP, deaths on roads they patrol have increased by 25 per cent with 232 deaths reported as of Wednesday compared to 195 during the same time period last year.
