Hearing Starts In Adoption Fraud Case

The preliminary hearing is underway in connection with the Imagine Adoption fraud case.
Rick and Susan Hayhow faced 12 charges heading into Monday’s opening proceedings, but one has since been dropped.
A local newspaper reports the pair still face 11 counts of fraud but 1 charge of breach of trust has been dismissed.
The pair are accused of using more than $420,000 of the company’s money on themselves.
The Cambridge agency later went bankrupt, leaving hundreds of would-be parents in a lurch.
A publication ban on the proceedings is in place.
