First responders in Norfolk County found a man with vital signs absent after a lightning strike Wednesday afternoon.
The 48-year-old was revived, and is now in London University Hospital in life threatening condition.
“The male is from Mexico, he was currently working on a ginseng farm when he was struck by lightning,” said OPP Constable Ed Sanchuk.
“It’s very important, because every year in Canada, 6 to 12 people are killed, and another 67 people are injured as a result of lightning strikes according to Environment Canada.”
Sanchuk says everyone should have an annually reviewed safety plan in place for when lightning or electrical storms happen.
