HWY 7 within 3 years

Premier Dalton McGuinty has made a commitment surrounding the timelines on construction of a new HWY 7.

He’s quoted in today’s copy of The Record saying shovels will hit the ground within three years.

If that holds, and construction begins in 2015, the 18 kilometre highway between Kitchener and Guelph could be up and running by 2020.

McGuinty was in town yesterday touring Abraham Erb Public School in Waterloo, where he said he would put into place contract legislation if teachers unions can’t reach new agreements with the province.
