Mill Race Festival opens today

The streets will be filled with the sounds of fiddles and hornpipes as the 20th annual Mill Race Festival kicks off today in the historic downtown Galt portion of Cambridge, celebrating folk music heritage.
Event founder, Brad McEwen tells 570 News that downtown celebrations are important for people to experience.
The festivities will begin at 7pm with a series of performances in the Mill Race Amphitheatre with concerts and workshops continuing on Saturday and Sunday, in both the afternoon and evening.
Traditional forms of folk music and dance are the festival’s theme, with the focus on various cultures within Cambridge and the surrounding area.
McEwen says that the event welcomes all and is a great way to experience other cultures.
