Josiah’s Journey

Three years ago, a Guelph couple lost their infant son, Josiah, who had a rare genetic disorder known as Trisomy 13 or Patau’s syndrome.

Shari Morash, Josiah’s mother, tells 570 News “When Josiah died we wanted to do something to keep his legacy alive and to give back to the incredible medical professionals at children’s hospital who did so much for Josiah and for our family”.

Shari and her husband Scott founded Josiah’s Journey, an annual Walk/Run in the Park, which takes place in Springbank Gardens in London.

All proceeds from the event go to support the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Children’s Hospital. Shari Morash says, “To date we’ve raised over $45,000 for the NICU and proceeds to date has helped to purchase a Giraffe Incubator, Fetal Monitor, and fund education in neonatal intensive care”.

The third annual Josiah’s Journey takes place today from 10am to 1pm. Activities include the walk/run, a toonie barbeque, a silent auction, and children’s entertainment.
