This week on Bamoseda – (July 5)

The impacts of Indian Residential School is in Bamoseda’s summer spotlight.

We’ll hear from a residential school survivor, the Chair of the Truth and Reconciliation and how it’s helping tell the stories of survivors and bring awareness to a dark part of Canadian history, plus there have been efforts to have more schools recognized in a bid for compensation.

One young woman talks about the impact residential school has had in her family and her community, and how things are beginning to change for the better.

In Manitoba, the ministry of education will be adding the subject of residential schools to its social studies curriculim for it’s high school students.
