There’s been an increase in residential break and enters in Waterloo Region – but that’s something typical to this time of year, according to police.

With that in mind, they’re issuing a few tips this morning for those planning to take off on a summer vacation.

Make sure you don’t let grass or plants get overgrown.

Talk to your neighbours so they know if you’re leaving for a long time.

Motion sensors and light timers are also recommended.

And don’t spill through social media that you’ll be away.
