Waterloo Regional Police say 15 people have been arrested following a joint drug investigation with the Guelph Police Service.
Search warrants were executed in Kitchener early this morning at homes on Forest Creek Drive, Apple Ridge Drive, West Avenue, Otterbein Road, Fairbank Place, McGee Avenue, Howe Drive, Courtland Avenue, and King Street East. Warrants were also executed at a business on Borden Avenue South and a home on Weather Vane Lane in Brampton.
Waterloo Regional Police Inspector Greg Lamport says the investigation began six months ago. “It was focusing on the drug activity within Waterloo Region,” he explains. “The main product was cocaine but other drugs may be involved.”
The suspects are facing charges including Conspiracy to Traffic a Controlled Substance, Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance.
Police say there could be more arrests and charges as the investigation continues.
