Kraus workers set to vote

The United Food and Commercial Workers Local 175 will be meeting with Kraus Carpet members today.

A vote on a collective bargaining offer from Kraus management will be held immediately after.

UFCW Director of Region 6, Luc Lacelle, would not comment on how members are being advised to vote.

Sources close to Kraus membership tell 570 News, accepting the offer would mean deep wage and benefit cuts.

The Waterloo-based company is in the process of being sold to a private-equity firm called Hilco, pending approval of the new deal.
