What’s open and closed?

It’s a holiday Monday, meaning many of your shopping options are on hold today and most federal, provincial and municipal government services are not operating.
Conestoga, Fairview Park and Cambridge Centre Malls are all closed as are most stores in the region, however, most businesses in the Village of St. Jacobs are open.
Beer and government-run liquor stores are closed today.
There will be bus service today, but Grand River Transit is running on a Sunday schedule.
Make sure your trash, blue box and green bin is at the curb this morning, if today is your pick up day: it’s business as usual.
Here is the rundown of local municipal services and how they are affected by the holiday:

CITY OF KITCHENER FACILITIES/VICTORIA DAY HOLIDAY HOURS:

KITCHENER CITY HALL
Offices will be closed.  Services normally offered by staff will be available again on Tuesday, May 22 at 8:30 a.m. The building itself will remain open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. as it does on all holidays and weekends.

KITCHENER MARKET
The market will be closed as usual on Sunday, May 20 and Monday, May 21.

KITCHENER PUBLIC LIBRARY
All Kitchener Public Library locations will be closed on Monday, May 21.  

POOLS
Breithaupt, Cameron Heights and Forest Heights pools are closed on Monday, May 21, while Lyle Hallman Pool is open 11:45 a.m. to 5 p.m.

SPLASH PADS
All the city’s splash pads will open for the season on Friday, May 18.

COMMUNITY CENTRES
The following community centres are closed on Monday, May 21: Breithaupt Centre, Centreville Chicopee Community Centre, Doon Pioneer Park Community Centre, Downtown Community Centre, Forest Heights Community Centre, Stanley Park Community Centre and Rockway Centre.

Bridgeport Community Centre, Chandler Mowat Community Centre, Kingsdale Community Centre, Victoria Hills Community Centre and Williamsburg Community Centre will be closed Saturday through Monday.

Country Hills Community Centre is closed Sunday, May 20 and Monday, May 21, and Mill Courtland Community Centre is closed on from Saturday afternoon through until Monday.

ARENAS
Don McLaren and Grand River arena are closed Saturday, May 19 to Monday, May 21.
Lions Arena is closed on Saturday and Monday.
Queensmount is closed Saturday and Sunday and Monday until 5 p.m., when it reopens for programming.
Activa Sportsplex is closed Monday until 7 p.m.
Sportsworld Arena is closed on Monday until 5:30 p.m.
THE AUD
The Aud is open for the K-W Kennel Club’s Annual Dog Show and Agility Trials Saturday to Monday. For details, visit www.theaud.ca.

BUDD PARK
Budd Park indoor soccer facility will be closed on Monday, May 21.
