The long weekend starts today, and for many it marks the unofficial start of summer.

The Victoria Day weekend also translates into more cars on our roads, and in turn, the potential for more crashes.

OPP Sergeant Dave Woodford tells 570 News there will be more police patrolling this weekend, but they can always use a hand.

He says if you see a suspected drunk driver, a motorist using their hand held device, speeding or being aggressive call 9-1-1, so they can send out a cruiser.

Woodford says they’ll be watching for the big four: aggressive, intoxicated and distracted driving, as well as people not wearing their seat belts.
