Regional Police expect to release more information today on a murder investigation in Kitchener.

Police say just after midnight they were called out to Cameron Heights Collegiate on Charles Street East after an 19-year-old man’s body was found behind the school.  Police say it appears he died following an altercation.

An 18-year-old female was taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Police say another 18-year-old man was taken into custody.

An autopsy will be held in Hamilton to determine the exact cause of death, but police are treating it as a homicide.

So far, no names have been released.

The investigation forced the closure of some nearby streets for several hours yesterday.

Inspector Kevin Thaler told 570 News, that man had been injured and has since been pronounced deceased. “A suspect is in custody, the investigation is in its preliminary stages.”
