It’s a day to get up close and personal with your local police department.

As part of Police Week celebrations, some detachments are opening their doors to the public.

Waterloo Regional Police are hosting an Open House, at their Headquarters on Maple Grove Road in Cambridge. It runs from 10am-3pm.

In Guelph, you can head to Downtown Headquarters for interactive displays, including fingerprinting, a taser demonstration, and a mock crime scene.  It runs from 10am-4:30pm, rain or shine.

Guelph Police Constable Mike Gatto says they hope this will help police to continue to build a relationship with the area’s youth.

You can also get a closer look at local ambulance services.  EMS is opening their doors in Cambridge today too.
