Weekend fatals

A series of tragic local accidents.

A Waterloo man is dead after being struck while cycling yesterday afternoon in Wellesley Township.
Regional Police have not yet released the name of the 52-year-old, who died after being struck by a vehicle on Herrgott Road.  
A second cyclist who was with him was not hurt.
Police are still investigating.  

On Saturday, an unidentified female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and died later in hospital.  
Police say the 52-year-old was crossing Erb Street just west of Fischer-Hallman when she was struck by a vehicle.

Also on Saturday, a 44-year-old Kitchener woman suffered serious injuries when she was struck by a vehicle while cycling in the area of Huron Road and Homer Watson.
