BlackBerry Screen Reader

Research in Motion has released a free app to help their blind users.

It’s called BlackBerry Screen Reader, and in a release, Senior Project Manager Greg Fields said, “BlackBerry Screen Reader helps customers with visual impairments stay connected,”

The Screen Reader app reads out the text displayed, as well as allowing easy access core BlackBerry apps.

“We are excited to introduce BlackBerry Screen Reader as part of our suite of accessibility solutions.”

The app is currently available on newer BlackBerry Curve smartphones. The 9350, 9360, and 9370.
