Trek 4 Kids Hike and Bike

With Spring in full effect, the House of Friendship welcomes everyone to join them in their Trek 4 Kids Hike and Bike.

Today marks the 7th annual fundraiser which helps raise money to send children of low-income families to summer camp.

John Neufeld, Executive Director tells 570 News that they want to send as many kids as possible to camp this summer.

Come rain or shine all are welcome to hike and bike along the Iron Horse trail to give children living in low-income families the opportunity to go to summer camp.

Last year’s Trek 4 Kids hike & bike, sent over 100 kids from low-income homes to overnight summer camp. About 125 trekkers came out in the pouring rain to help kids in the community. They succeeded in a big way, raising over $38,000.

This year’s goal is to raise $50,000 and send at least 100 kids to camp.

Neufeld says it costs at least $500 to send one child and they already have over 100 applicants waiting.

If you are unable to participate in the event and would still like to make a donation you can go to houseoffriendship.org or text the word SHARE to 41010 to make a 5 dollar donation.
