Horwath latest of party leaders to visit

NDP leader Andrea Horwath is the third provincial party leader in as many days to visit Waterloo Region.

The visit comes amid a pending by-election in the Kitchener-Waterloo riding now that Elizabeth Witmer has stepped down.

Horwath appeared on 570’s Gary Doyle Show Friday where she said everyday Ontarians seem to be getting lost in the shuffle.

“I think people want us to pay attention to them a lot more than they want us to pay to our own political fortunes.” said Horwath.

She says at this time the NDP have not selected a candidate to run in Kitchener-Waterloo.

A by-election needs to be called within six months.

Premier Dalton McGuinty was in the region yesterday and PC leader Tim Hudak was here on Wednesday.
