Rangers lose Game 4; Knights sweep series and will play for OHL Championship

A third period rally came up short as the Rangers fell to the London Knights last night at The Aud to end Kitchener’s OHL season.

The Rangers lost 4-2, but had trailed 3-0 heading into the final frame.

Fans calling into the 570 News post-game show were disappointed, but generally appreciative
of the Rangers efforts all season long.

Jean brought some perspective to the season noting the success was about much more than just the game.

She called Ben Fanelli’s comeback from a devastating head injury amazing.

Last night also marked the swan song for at least three Rangers: Michael  Catenacci, Cody Sol and Tyler Randell are all overagers, meaning their junior careers are over.

All three joined the post-game show.

The captain – Catenacci – called the end depressing but expressed his thanks to the fans for their support over his years here.

Randell, too recognized the fans and said, they may not see it sometimes, but their support means everything to the players.

Sol admitted to having mixed emotions: he had joy for the five years he spent here, but was sad about how it all ended.

The Knights swept the series and now move onto the OHL final against either Niagara or Ottawa.

Niagara leads that series 3-1 after a 5-2 win last night.
