Juno Fan Fare attracts a crowd of more than 500

OTTAWA -More than 500 music fans flocked to St. Laurent shopping centre on Saturday afternoon for the Juno Fan Fare.

As part of the event, homegrown talent like Simple Plan, Classified and Jully Black were at the mall signing autographs. Pop singer Carly Rae Jepsen also performed her hit “Call Me Maybe” for the crowd.

Fans jammed in between metal fences to line up and some waited up to four hours to get an autograph from their favourite artist.

Laura drove from Montreal to come to the event because she said she’s a huge fan of Simple Plan.

“They pretty much mean everything to me. I’ve been a fan for like eight years so it’s been a long following and they’ve helped me through everything, she said.

Laura was one of many Simple Plan fans sporting a band T-shirt.

A fellow fan, Audrey, burst into tears when she met the Canadian rockers.

“When I went and saw Pierre it just everything crashed and I started crying,” she said, clutching her autographed towel. “I can’t even describe it.”

Another lucky fan won tickets to the Juno Award show on Sunday night.

“I was shaking so much, I can’t even think straight,” said Hanna. “Best moment ever.”

The Juno Awards are on Sunday at 8 p.m.
