There was little in the way of hitting, but defenceman Ryan Murphy was back on the ice with the Kitchener Rangers on Wednesday afternoon.
It was his first full practice since taking a vicious hit almost three weeks ago.
Earlier, Rangers General Manager and Head Coach, Steve Spott told us they are looking at next Thursday in Brampton as a possible return date for Murphy.
Murphy stayed out for the full 1 hour and 10 minutes and even took part in a few battle drills.
It was an optional skate with about 15 players on the ice.
“I feel awesome, I feel perfect again…I’m anxious, I can’t wait to play again.” said Murphy after practice.
“Everyday there is no symptoms…now it’s just a waiting game.”
Murphy met with the medical team of the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday.
