Cinco de Mayo in Kitchener

Downtown Kitchener is celebrating Cinco de Mayo.

It’s a celebration meaning May 5th and it commemorates the day of the Mexican army’s unlikely victory over the French forces at the Battle of Puebla in 1862.

Kitchener is hosting festivities downtown in celebration of Latino culture on May 5th and 6th with lots of food and entertainment.

On May 7th the Kitchener Market will continue the party from 10 a.m – 1 p.m, where there will be a kids pinata party, free face painting, with more fantastic food and live entertainment.

Mark Garner, Executive Director of the Kitchener Downtown Business Association says, Cinco de Mayo is a perfect opportunity to celebrate the Latin Heritage within our community.
