Two snow machine crashes

Regional Police are investigating a snowmobile crash off Ira Needles near Highway 7/8 last night.

Police say a 59-year old Kitchener man was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries after his machine went out of control and struck a pole and a stump.

Police say the man was riding on a homemade track with a friend at the time of the crash and was not wearing a helmet.

In a seperate incident, an Arthur Township man died in a weekend snowmobile crash.

OPP say 36-year old Adam Blair Neal, a father of two, died in hospital after his snowmobile collided with two cars in the area of Main Street North and Sligo Road in Mount Forest Saturday afternoon.

The weekend crashes have the club representing riders in Ontario asking its members to exercise care and control when out on the trails.

Josh Grills with the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs is also advising riders to stay on the trails and to slow down at night.

The maximum speed on the trails is 50 kilometres an hour.

On roads that are 50 kilometres an hour, the speed limit for snowmobiles is 20 kilometres an hour.
