Sobering stats from CAA

Some sobering statistics from the Canadian Automobile Association.

It says 27 per cent of Ontario drivers polled said they drove after drinking, at least once this year.

The poll found nearly one in five drivers surveyed admitted to getting behind the wheel when they believed they were impaired.

C.A.A. spokesperson Silvana Aceto tells 570 News, the findings are unacceptable.

She reminds people to plan ahead this holiday season – take a cab or public transportation, or stay overnight.

Aceto says that not only is it unacceptable to drink and drive, it is also unacceptable to let someone drive when you know they have been drinking.

The survey found that nearly every driver polled believes drinking and driving is socially unacceptable.
