Getting help for Aud

The City of Kitchener moves closer to making a decision on what to do about the Aud.

It’s reportedly bringing in some outside help, in the form of a consultant, to study the options on the table: doing nothing with the aging building, renovating it or building an entirely new facility.

CTV reports the consultant would be hired through Deloitte & Touche at a cost of $25,000, plus taxes – the tab being picked up by the Kitchener Rangers.

The city maintains a consultant is needed because of the sheer work involved in carrying out various studies.

The consultant’s report is expected to be tabled early in the new year.
