Mattress catches fire

A Kitchener resident was taken to hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation after a late afternoon blaze in the downtown core.
Waterloo Regional Police say around 5:30, a three floor apartment building on King Street East was evacuated after a mattress caught fire.
Damage was minimal and police say the smoke detector was not working.
