U-W players news conference – LIVE at noon

The University of Waterloo steroid scandal will be thrust back into the spotlight today.

Warriors football players are staging a news conference at noon at which time they’re expected to address a number of issues including the potential for a lawsuit against the school after it cancelled their upcoming football season.

570 News will carry the news conference live.

It also comes the day after Canadian Interuniversity Sport announced members of the team will be allowed to transfer to another CIS institution immediately.

Meantime, this morning at 9, former President of the World Anti-Doping Agency Dick Pound will join 570’s Jeff Allan Show.

Pound recently said he supported the university’s decision to pull the plug on the season after 9 players tested positive for banned substances.
