Premier says Catholic schools not exempt from sex ed

The Premier insists Ontario’s Catholic schools will have to teach sex education like any other public school.

Dalton McGuinty’s comment comes despite reports his government was willing to let Catholics develop their own sex-ed curriculum.

McGuinty says while neither the premier nor the Education Ministry usually sign off on curriculum revisions, this issue is a “horse of a different colour.”

He says he should have realized that sex ed is an explosive issue for parents, but repeatedly refused to say what he thought about the changes.
